Getting Pumped at the Pump…
Read this first…. Automakers Balk at new Fuel Bill.
After seeing a similiar article in my local paper I almost fell out of my chair, both out of laughter and frustration. Its a friggin joke. By the time minimum efficiency is raised to a still very modest 35 mpg gas will probably be over $40 a gallon. I say do not insult the American people with this bill. The oil industry is winning this game and there is apparently nothing we can do. Because I am sure when an alternate fuel source is being used in a significant capacity the oil giants will have bought into all the necessary channels and control those as well. The only way you are going to avoid getting fleeced is by taking up walking or riding a bike. Unfortuantely the people with the power to inact any really change also have the salaries to absorb the costs of the increased fuel price and are no doubt recieving incentives for allowing the oil companies to continue their ogilopoly and price fixing at the pump. Chime in with your thoughts.
Main Points:
1) Sharply rising cost of fuel.
2) Affect on middle to low income families.
3) Ways to reduce fuel consumption and lighten the blow.
