Why Is the Price of Oil and Gas so High in the United States ? Something I have asked myself many time as I am filling my tank. If you want some insight into the inner workings of the price of oil and ultimately gas than watch this CNBC Original. Even though it is several years old it is still very relevant in its content. I get frustrated that we are spending so much time effort, and government dollars ( that we currently do not have ) on alternative energy. Why ? Because it is cool to say and is a political and investor buzz word. Ultimately we have the material and technology to break our dependency on foreign oil today. Unfortunately it is not sexy or new, and I am sure certain lobbyist groups have played a heavy hand as well. In the video you will learn the United States has not built an oil refinery since 1978. After a fact like that it makes it hard to keep blaming OPEC about our gas prices. Watch it, learn something, and maybe urge our lawmakers to make lobbyist groups illegal. Hey it is a new year, one can dream.
