Financial literacy is not taught in schools. It is not taught in college. You either learn it from your family, through your own curiosity, from your mistakes or in some cases people avoid it all together. I understand there is a lot of information on the Internet, but a lot of it is cookie cutter stuff that may help, but there is so much more. And if you are not net savvy or have the time to research these topics you may never find the real details or get the answers to you specific situation. Fortunately, finance is a hobby for me and I practice what I preach. I am not a CPA or CFA, but someone working hard hoping to do a little better each year, and give my family what it needs without making an unnecessary amount of sacrifice. I hope to share with you my stories, and provide a community where people can hopefully find the information, support and resources to become financially literate. I hope that you, myself included, will find a support system that will help us all climb that ladder to the top.
